Yeah but my puppy bits alllllll the time. So I seriously have to walk around 24/7 with toys in my hand? My puppy does not care about the toys. She wants to bite me!!
What if they bite you not because they are bored but because they are not having they way. Like if you are forced to removed inappropriate objects from their mouth, and do not listen any commands you trained them on (i.e. drop it, leave it, sit). Can’t grab the lead because they are bitting down your hand. Can’t keep walking because they are ripping off your clothes and bitting down your ankles. Just venting here but also need help 😬
My 4 yo greyhound bites at my hands, arms, and even my sons leg during play 😢 the dog loves chomping and chewing during play and i want to encourage him playing, but what do i do if (when, really) he goes from biting the toy to the human parts?
Prevention isn't bad but it doesn't teach them anything it just stops them but it only stops them in the presence of a toy but what if I don't have a toy or they don't care for it they gotta be corrected it isn't personal but don't bite me there mother's even do that.
Ya this isn’t helpful at least not with mine. Could be the coolest toy, she’ll bite it for 5 secs then right back to me even if I’m not moving. Move the toy around to keep her interested? Guess what’s moving with and right next to the toy
As soon as he bit me, I would make a sound, signaling him I was hurt…. And if he didn't move press his tongue firmly with your thumb, in his mouth Press it a few times, he'll stop biting you
That is the most useless advice I've heard. What am i supposed to do ? How do you entertain a puppy all the time? This tells me absolutely nothing its just like every time i see these women trainers talking in circles. They tell you nothing while pretending to be insightful.
oh nah this does not work for me,my puppy is way more interested in biting me and the furniture and the rocks and bark mulch outside than literally anything else. there is no "tire him out with something else" option, when i am playing with him or feeding him he stops what he is doing about 1 minute in and starts biting and pulling at my clothes
What do you do when your puppy wants to play and would rather bite your hands and feet rather than their toys? We try redirecting and yelping or yelling ouch makes him bite harder. I’ve been saying “no” and redirecting with his toy and saying “toy, yes”. It seems to kind of been working depending on the situation. But when he’s super playful, it becomes aggressive.
My pet, my low heat kept on biting. It's my brother's dog and I've been telling him to please stop. I let him bite me sometimes at home easy he will never quit, like he's just buying a piece of wood the song. He won time by my Papa Sophie a God. No one he bited the carpet, especially of all he literally. He bites everything and one time when I was single. Then his head went up and made me bite my tongue. I was bleeding a lot and stuff and yeah, he's being bad like. Can you help me train my dog milo because it's very bad😅
This doesnt work for certain dogs and certainly not my cane corso. Just saw a method where when they go to bite you and you grab there upper mouth and squeeze gently to where the teeth now goes into upper lip. Will try that today.
My pit puppy, shes almost 6 weeks old, bit my granddaughter, shes 8 yrs old when she tried to hold her the pit tried to get away or maybe she was holding the pit where it was slipping from her grip and my granddaughter was probably gripping too hard as to not drop her and maybe that was why the puppy bit her as it was trying to what seemed to me the puppy was trying to get out of her grip, the bite did draw blood on the skin, so it did pierce her skin, should i be worried about the bite , we washed it well and put Neosporin 🤷, and what about the pit will it affect her attitude after biting out of aggression??
every time we touch or look at our puppy it bites us and our kid. We've tried everything and she just shreds our daughter. No one talks about this, but it's super common.
The problem I am having is with my kids not being able to play with our puppy much at all. Not really independently anyway. I pretty much have to keep her with me on the leash if she is out and the kids are home. Otherwise she plays too rough with them and bites them or their clothes. She does well with me though.
no it does not work always. my puppy get aggressive and try to bite when we try to tie him up or when he is playing he get aggressive and try to bite. he growls too he won't touch toys at all he try to bite the leg or hands.
Well said! The truth is that you need to set them up for success! Help them, play with them, occupy them 🎉 engage! They are living, breathing, and have an intelligent mind and life to live. They aren’t objects to have to lay around and just cuddle once in awhile, it takes work 😊
Shark mode…I kept quite a few long term engaging toys suitable for biting and rough play, took awhile to find her favorites but it was the best way to work with it. I carried them with me whenever we were together. ❤ sure was a solo pup and didn't have the littermates to help learn what was too hard or not.
I need some suggestions to tire my Charli out when we go outside. She’s almost 9 wks old and I take her out on my break, lunch and when I get off but it doesn’t seem to exert all her energy. So when it’s time to go to bed she’s usually up in her crate for the most of the night, I’m currently letting her out every 2-3 hours at night. She was doing so good for a few days but now she’s back at nipping 😩
all puppies bite because they’re teeth are growing and they my cousins bankhar used to do that when he was a puppy and he stopped when he was around 6 months
Yeah. Prevent biting/nibbling – and prevent the bite inhibition training as well. Good luck at the Vet when your dog bites full force because he never learned to control his bite force or when you have kids or strangers and there is an unlucky moment.

Wow first puppy looks exactly like mine!
mine won't play with the toy or we are playing with the toy he just wants to bite me instead
Okay, how do i do this though? My puppy has tons of toys and teething tools and stuff but still draws blood and bruises me

Keep them busy.. take them to movies , restaurants, Home Depot and quit your job 😂

How incredibly unhelpful. Thanks for nothing.
I have a question for you about my 5 month old
So you correct it then?

I have a dog that annoys my dad make a video about training it
My puppy destroyed my newest shoe that was 100 or more dollars
This video answered nothing.

My grandmas dog bit my cats ear I hate this dog now it gets on my nerves!
I have been giving my 7mo rotti toys instead, and he is still nipping. I need a more effective instruction.

Great. Now how do you do that?

Then what happens when they’re bored ? Or simply out of control?

I have one right now that bites my clothes. Even when I am giving him attention and play time. How do I correct that behavior?

Doesn't work they still want human meat.
Huh?
But my dog is already 9 months and he started just recently, the thing is that he's a huge german shepherd and is quite hard
I gave my puppy 10 toys for biting. He leaves the toys and still bites, so I put vicks on my hands . Then he doesn't bite me.
What brand of bones are those? Benebone? Nylabone?

Yea I give her toys and she decides that my bones are better

I redirect to a toy but instead she always wants my hands

So just let him bite all the kids so you can have a “relationship” with your dog. Got it. Are these people for real?
I would just really dramatically pretend it hurt me badly and eventually I guess the guilt solved that problem for me

"Puppies bite….they do that, its gonna happen" 😂😂🐕💯 Pretty much lol
Why is my puppy bitting himself aggressively
My dog is biting me I just got him today
I'll correct that puppy with pets snuggles and kisses
Lol! Mine bites MORE when she is free and playing her way!
