fake service dogs are absolutely diabolical, but if it isn't very, very obvious its a fake service dog, never assume it is

The harness is probably the best thing to use when walking an older or sickly dog

I use the harness because my dog is young and still pulls so we give him the harness so he does not choke himself

Okay, those leads are shit. A family friend of mine got her leg cut because of one of those. But, with a harness (certain ones, anyway), there is a place to clip the lead about the dog's middle back, so it doesn't pull on their neck

Im so tired of people hating on harnesses! No, a harness isn't a replacement for training. Of course it isn't. Is it a practical tool for safety? Yes. Is it a safe way to fasten a dog for car rides? Yes. Does it prevent slipping in slender dogs? Yes. Does it offer quick control in an emergency situation? Yes. There are so many ways that harnesses are helpful, practical tools for well-trained dogs. The problem is not the tool, it is always the way it is used or misused.

We had a mastiff using a vest it was easier to use with her and it wasn't a fake service dog vest and a leash that we called the hose leash because it was so thick it was but we also lived in the woods

The main reasons for the harness on my dog is so it is easier to control him and so he doest choke himself

A harness is sometimes better than a collar. My friend got a puppy that had absolutely no self preservation instinct and would choke himself, to death if given the chance, while pulling on the leash. They got him a harness so that they could actually hold him back.
